The Westweg is Germany's classic forest trek and the natural anchor for the Black Forest trail vertical. It runs from Pforzheim across the length of the Schwarzwald toward Basel, using ridge paths, forest tracks, village stops, lake viewpoints, and high sections around the Feldberg area. It is long enough for committed hikers but easy to break into shorter rail-linked stages from towns such as Baden-Baden, Freudenstadt, Titisee, and Freiburg.
